SCHT student research paper ranks 4th in KainCon 2024 Research Conference!

The whole Treston community congratulates Hospitality Management students, Patrick Rodriguez and Via Bianca Añano, and Tourism Management student Jodel Angelo Cortes for their recent achievement at KainCon 2024 Research Conference held last April 17, 2024 at the Far Eastern University Manila.

Their research paper entitled, “Exploring Sustainable Initiatives: Green Practices of DOT-Accredited Restaurants in Rizal Province”, bagged 4th place out of 59 research paper submissions in the student category. The research tackled the significant impact and challenges encountered by the green practices of selected restaurants in addressing urgent environmental issues such as climate change, pollution, and destruction of natural resources; and their important role in achieving sustainable development.

The team succeeded under the incredible guidance of Ms. Jazzy Buela, the Assistant Program Chairperson of Treston’s School of Culinary, Hospitality, and Tourism.

KainCon is an academic conference held during the Filipino Food Month that aims to celebrate the rich Filipino culinary heritage and history by bringing together industry professionals, chefs, farmers, experts, and students to discuss various topics such as Philippine gastronomy, agritourism, Philippine regional cuisine, and food security and sustainability.

Congratulations, Golden Lions for this outstanding achievement! We are very proud of you!
