Treston International College proudly hosted the 3rd General Membership Meeting of the Wellness Tourism Association of the Philippines (WeTAP) on October 30, 2025, at the Bar and Dining Hall of Treston International College. The event brought together WeTAP leaders and members for a meaningful exchange on advancing wellness tourism and fostering collaboration within the industry.
Mr. Atho De La Cruz, WeTAP Executive Director, opened the program with a warm welcome message while Ms. Catherine Turvill, WeTAP President, presented the WeTAP Roadmap for 2026 onwards, outlining key directions for the association.
Highlights of the event were two engaging talks from esteemed resource speakers. Dr. Ma. Teresa Iñigo, Director General of the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care (PITAHC), spoke on “Rediscovering Filipino Wellness: A Traveler’s Guide to Healing Traditions” and highlighted the rich heritage of Filipino healing practices and their relevance in today’s wellness tourism landscape.
Ms. Sheryl Genuino-See discussed “How Treston International College Can Shape the Future of Filipino Wellness Tourism.” In her talk, she shared Treston’s advocacy for holistic development – nurturing the mind, heart, body, and soul – and how education can serve as a bridge in advancing the nation’s wellness identity.
To further embody the spirit of wellness, participants enjoyed a sound bath and energy cleansing session, an interactive game called “Link”, and a raffle that added a fun and engaging touch to the program. Guests were also treated to Filipino merienda and appreciated the warm hospitality reflected in the thoughtful Filipino styling of the venue. All attendees received exclusive Treston merchandise as a token of appreciation.
This year’s meeting was made even more meaningful as Treston International College officially joined WeTAP as one of its newest institutional members, further solidifying its commitment to promoting wellness and holistic education in the Philippines.
