Treston International College officially ushered in the holiday season with a brilliant Christmas Lighting Ceremony held on December 1, 2025 at the Treston Lobby, transforming the campus into a festive spectacle.
This year, TRESTON adopted the vibrant and meaningful theme of a Filipino-Chinese Christmas, beautifully blending the rich cultural traditions of the Philippines and China in its decorations. It also featured a colorful Christmas cake made by the Academy of Pastry and Culinary Arts (APCA) Philippines.
The ceremonial lighting was led by Deputy President & EVP, Ms. Sheryl Genuino-See together with TRESTON Academic Director, Ms. Maria Carolina C. Abanil.
In her message, Ms. See emphasized the importance of finding the true meaning of happiness and genuine fulfillment. She encouraged the students, faculty, and staff to look beyond transient joys and external achievements and instead search for deeper, more lasting sources of contentment.
The event also featured the much-anticipated announcement of the winners of the Senior High School Lantern-Making Contest, celebrating the creativity and craftsmanship of the students who crafted stunning parols inspired by the blended cultural theme. The winners were: Grade 12 – Passion, Champion; Grade 12 – Nurture, 1st Runner-Up; and Grade 12 – Prudence, 2nd Runner-Up.Following the main ceremony, the spirit of community and hope flourished as members of the TRESTON community gathered to hang their personal well-wishes upon the Wishing Tree, marking a heartwarming tradition of sharing aspirations for the coming year.
This spectacular display of holiday cheer and intricate decoration was the result of a concerted effort led by the Campus Services Department, with extensive support from various vital offices, including the Office of the Academic Director, Senior High School and College Departments, Facility Management Office, General Services Office, Marketing Office, Treston Health Club, Treston-BrightSide Academy, and other dedicated administrative offices, demonstrating the strong, collaborative spirit of the TRESTON Community.
