The Treston Plenary Halls hosted an impressive display of intellect and strategy on August 1, 2026, for the 1st Treston-ACM Rapid Chess Competition. Over 100 students from Grades 8 to 12 nationwide participated in the intense 7-round Swiss System rapid chess tournament, making the event a celebration for competitive youth chess.
Congratulations to all the winners for their outstanding focus and performance throughout the grueling rounds. Top players across all divisions took home cash prizes, while the Champions and 1st Runners-Up earned college scholarships in recognition of their achievements.
The landmark tournament was spearheaded by Treston’s School of Technology under the leadership of its School Head, Engr. Allan Godfrey Sagun, in close collaboration with the Recruitment, Campus Life & Retention Committee led by Dr. Francis T. Tolentino, and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
Treston International College extends its sincere gratitude to all participants, parents, organizers, and the officiating arbiters: Chief Arbiter FA Byron Villar, Deputy Chief Arbiter NA Mabel Padua, and Arbiter NA Israel Landicho, whose dedicated efforts made this milestone competition a resounding success.
